Exclusive: BJP MLA Says Bilkis Bano’s Rapists ‘Are Brahmins With Good Sanskaar’

In an exclusive interview with Mojo Story, BJP MLA CK Raulji stated the 11 rapists in the Bilkis Bano case are Brahmins with good values or ‘sanskaar’, and someone with ill intention may have punished them. Raulji was one of the two BJP leaders who were part of the review panel that granted remission to the 11 convicted rapists, who were serving life sentences for rape and murder in the case.

Bilkis Bano was 21 years old and five months pregnant when she was gangraped while fleeing the communal violence that erupted in the aftermath of the Godhra train burning in the 2022 Gujarat riots. Her three-year-old daughter was one of the victims, along with seven other members of her family.

In a statement, Bilkis called the decision to release the men “unjust” and said it had “shaken” her faith in justice.
