Makeup Is 5000 Years Old
In southeastern Iran's Jiroft region, archaeologists have made a fascinating find: a small chlorite vial containing an ancient form of lipstick. The discovery unveils a lipstick-like substance dating back to the early 2nd millennium BCE. Professor Massimo Vidale, co-author of the study, noted its resemblance to contemporary lipstick recipes, shedding light on the ancient Marḫaši civilization.
