Forest Officer of the Akbar - Sita Row Suspended

Tripura's principal chief conservator of forests (wildlife and ecotourism), Prabin Lal Agrawal, was suspended by the state government amidst controversy over naming a zoo lion and lioness as Akbar and Sita. VHP's complaint to the Calcutta high court alleged that religious sentiments were hurt. The lion and lioness were moved to North Bengal Wild Animals Park from Tripura's Sepahijala zoo on Feb 12 in an animal exchange program.
