Bihar Election 2025: Yashwant Deshmukh’s Big Forecast – ‘PK Has a Bright Future,’ Says Barkha Dutt

Nitish Kumar’s fate in Bihar 2025 may hinge on the female vote, as C-Voter’s Yashwant Deshmukh tells Barkha Dutt in this pre-poll analysis.

As Bihar gears up for the crucial 2025 Assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s latest video message has reignited political debate. In conversation with Barkha Dutt on Mojo Story, Yashwant Deshmukh, founder of C-Voter, analyzed the shifting public mood through his pre-poll tracker.

Deshmukh revealed that while Tejashwi Yadav leads the popularity charts as the preferred Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar remains a decisive figure, especially among female voters, who give him a double-digit advantage. “Nitish’s emotional connect with women voters built over years of welfare schemes remains unmatched,” said Deshmukh, adding that the NDA campaign “cannot run without Nitish.”

The C-Voter survey shows Prashant Kishor’s rising traction among youth, though his organizational strength remains untested. Deshmukh noted that Kishor’s support is largely drawn from disenchanted NDA voters, but his conversion of goodwill into votes remains uncertain.

On national influence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi maintains strong satisfaction ratings in Bihar, while Rahul Gandhi’s resurgence has stabilized the opposition’s vote base. Still, Deshmukh believes the final outcome will depend on voter turnout—“If women voters turn out in large numbers, Nitish Kumar could surprise everyone.”

Concluding the discussion, Barkha Dutt observed that Bihar’s election battle is as much about legacy and fatigue as it is about gendered loyalty and generational change, making 2025 a defining test for Nitish’s political longevity.
