Bihar Election: Pradeep Gupta Says BJP Is the “Alternative” | Who Will Win? | Barkha Dutt
Pollster Pradeep Gupta tells Barkha Dutt Bihar 2025 will be a close, unpredictable fight with Nitish, Tejashwi, and PK shaping the state’s political game.
In an exclusive interview with Barkha Dutt for Mojo Story, Pradeep Gupta, Chairman of Axis My India, shared insights into the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Known for his accurate polling and data-driven political analysis, Gupta described the state’s political landscape as a “close and unpredictable contest.”
Gupta highlighted that Nitish Kumar, despite facing strong anti-incumbency after over 20 years in power, remains the “common denominator” in Bihar politics. He explained that while voters express fatigue, they still struggle to find a clear alternative. Interestingly, Gupta noted that even within the NDA, the BJP is now seen by some as an alternative to Nitish Kumar himself.
Discussing new entrants, Gupta said Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj movement has stirred conversations across Bihar, especially among the youth. However, he added that Kishor’s real test will be converting public buzz into actual votes. He further observed that Tejashwi Yadav continues to hold ground as the face of the opposition but faces tough competition from both Nitish Kumar and the BJP’s strong campaign led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who remains the party’s main brand.
Gupta concluded that while the situation is “too close to call,” the final outcome will depend on floating voters, women’s participation, and youth enthusiasm. As Barkha Dutt summarized, Bihar’s politics remains full of surprises — where alliances shift, leaders reinvent, and nothing can be ruled out.
