Cop Raped Me 4 Times” — Satara Doctor’s Suicide Note on Hand Calls Out Police & MP | Mojo
A 26-year-old Maharashtra doctor’s suicide exposes police abuse and system failure—Barkha Dutt demands swift, transparent justice for the young victim.
A 26-year-old woman doctor from Satara, Maharashtra, died by suicide after accusing Sub-Inspector Gopal Badne of raping her multiple times. She also alleged pressure from police officers and aides of an MP to issue fake fitness certificates for accused persons in custody. Her four-page suicide note revealed months of harassment before she took the extreme step.
In an interview on Mojo Story with Ms. Barkha Dutt, BJP spokesperson Sushiben Shah and NCP spokesperson Dr. Surina Malhotra discussed the shocking case. Sushiben Shah stated that the government has condemned the crime and assured a “free, fast, and fearless” investigation under the supervision of Maharashtra’s Chief Minister and Home Minister. She confirmed that the landlord’s son was arrested while the accused officer remains on the run but suspended.
Dr. Malhotra, herself a medical professional, questioned why the doctor’s earlier complaints were ignored and called for better protection and counseling systems for women doctors in remote areas. Both speakers agreed that accountability, transparency, and timely justice are essential.
Towards the end, Ms. Barkha Dutt stressed that this case represents a larger issue of women’s safety and institutional responsibility. She urged that justice for the young doctor must be swift and that such tragedies should not repeat.
