Haryana IPS Officer Suicide Case: FIR Filed Against Puran Kumar’s Wife, ASI’s Brother Speaks on Mojo Story
A Haryana ASI’s suicide and explosive allegations against a senior IPS officer’s family have ignited a storm over corruption, caste, and justice in the police force.
In a tragic turn of events, Haryana’s police force has been shaken by the alleged suicide of ASI Sandeep Lathar from Rohtak’s Lathod village. Speaking exclusively to MOJO Story’s Barkha Dutt, Sandeep’s brother accused IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar’s wife, IAS Amneet Kumar, of being complicit in harassment that led to Sandeep’s death. The family has refused to hand over the body, demanding an FIR and justice for what they call a “sacrifice for truth.”
Sandeep, posted in the Rohtak Cyber Cell, left behind a three-page suicide note and a video accusing IPS Kumar of corruption, abuse of power, and caste-based favoritism. His brother described him as an honest officer who even travelled by public transport, saying, “He should be given the status of a Shaheed.” The family insists that the system failed him and vows to protest if no action is taken.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited the family and promised swift action, but tension remains high. The case has created a deep divide within Haryana’s police system, with one officer’s death linked to caste discrimination and another to corruption charges. Both families have demanded justice and transparency.
As Ms Barkha Dutt concluded, this tragedy exposes not just personal despair but the larger rot within institutions meant to uphold integrity and justice.
