Shocking Bullying at Ms Rishikesh Pagaent I Yeh Hai Uttarakhand Ke Self Appointed Moral Police

Winner Muskan Sharma shuts down moral policing at Miss Rishikesh, saying, “Our clothes were short, but our dreams were big.”

During the Miss Rishikesh pageant rehearsals, a shocking scene unfolded when Raghvendra Bhatnagar, President of the Rashtriya Hindu Shakti Sangathan, barged into the venue, demanding contestants wear sarees instead of short dresses to “protect culture.” The sudden interference drew anger and disbelief from participants and viewers alike.

Muskan Sharma, who later won the crown, firmly stood her ground. Speaking to Mojo Story, she questioned Bhatnagar’s authority, asking, “Who are you to tell us what to wear?” She highlighted the hypocrisy of his stance, noting that while he opposed Western clothes, he himself wore pants and a shirt. Muskan said confidently, “We can’t play the Olympics in a saree. We dress this way for rehearsals—it’s part of the job.” Her calm yet bold response won praise across social media.

The heated exchange reignited national debate on moral policing and women’s freedom of choice. While Bhatnagar defended his intrusion as an effort to “safeguard culture,” many called it an attempt to impose outdated moral standards on modern Indian women.

In the interview with Ms. Barkha Dutt, Muskan concluded that such incidents reflect rigid mindsets that must change. She said, “Our clothes were short, but our dreams were big.” Dutt closed by saying Muskan’s courage and voice symbolize a new India—one where women speak up for their rights with grace and strength.
