'In a new twist to the investigation into the rape and murder of a young doctor at the RG Kar medical college, some of the protesting doctors have alleged that a TMC student wing leader- Avik Dey- was present at the crime scene in the college seminar hall where the doctor's body was found after the rape and murder. Dey has denied it is him and the police had initially said he was a fingerprint expert. But the TMC Chhatra Parishad has suspended him pending investigation. Meanwhile, ahead of the Supreme Court's next hearing into the case, doctors have ramped up their protest in West Bengal. They say the resignation of the police commissioner is a basic demand they will not back off from.' Read more
